FAQ
About me
My name is Kumar. I live in India. I have completed M.M.V trade from Vocational Training Institute. Currently I am working as a carpenter. My full time job is carpentry. In my free time I am doing research on 3d display as a hobby. The carpentry work I learned is very helpful in building and testing 3d research related logistics objects.
2. What message would you like to convey to researchers and companies working in the field of glass free 3d display?
have discovered a new technology called glass free 3d display for cinema. I named it looking cinema 3D.
I have created three types of inventions for the audience to experience glass free 3d on a screen as large as a cinema screen. Based on this, all the viewers can enjoy the upcoming glass free 3d in theaters at a low cost.
The glass free 3d displays that are currently in use are only valid for small scale applications. But there is research going on to bring glass free 3d to the cinema screen. My new invention is to create glass free 3d on a huge cinema screen using only 4 angle view of the same scene. Another method is to create glass free 3d on a large cinema screen using multiple angles of the same scene.
The third method is a simple method of recording the multi-angle shots needed for glass free 3d cinema with a single camera. I was only able to create a non-working prototype to illustrate my discovery. And I couldn't face the two challenges of additional technology and economics required to produce a working prototype. I would like to give this to a researcher, research student or 3d display technology company interested in this field.
3. How will the expression of glass free 3D look on the cinema screen in your looking cinema 3D concept?
My looking cinema 3D screen is able to give the best glass free 3d effect to the audience sitting in the cinema. When a theater screens four different views of the same scene, all viewers will see the same 3D view regardless of where the audience sits in the horizontal rows. Similarly, when screening multiple angles of the same scene, each viewer will enjoy different views depending on their sitting angle. Multi-angle display is available in the market but it is a bit difficult to record multi-angle view. And bringing multi-angle viewing to a cinema screen-sized LED 3D display is a challenge. And will result in higher costs for users. As I mentioned earlier, looking cinema 3D is based on four-angle displays and gives viewers a complete 3D experience at a low cost. And a 3d display based on only four viewing angles is yet to emerge in the market. Because this also has many challenges to face
4. Is your looking cinema 3D display - lenticular and barrier based flat type display - or is it based on something else?
The display used in my looking cinema 3D is an active type display. And parallax barrier technology controlled by electronic control is used in the display. In Looking cinema 3D concept the limit to the length and height of the screen depends on the capability of the projectors used to screen.
5. How many projectors are required to display glass free 3D in Looking cinema 3D?
Four projectors are used for a 3d effect created by four angle views of the same scene, and more than four projectors are used for a 3d effect created by multiple angle views of the same scene. Each projector is controlled by an active shutter.
6. In Looking cinema 3D concept Is it possible to display glass free 3d on screen with only two projectors?
can The glass free 3D effect can be displayed on the screen with only two projectors. However, it is my personal opinion that 4 projectors are needed for additional quality improvement
7.Looking cinema 3D Does any reconstruction of the scene sets need to be done before the four angle views of the same scene are screened by four projectors?
All the reconfiguration work is done by the movement of the screen and the parallax barrier on the screen. According to my looking cinema 3D concept, there is no need to restructure the scene sets to screen four angle views of the same scene or polygonal views of the same scene through the projector.
8. Is the Looking Cinema 3D display better than the 3D display invented by other inventors?
Other inventors have developed smaller types of glass free 3d displays based on polygonal views of the same scene. (Though this method creates crosstalk, it doesn't greatly affect the glasses-free 3D experience) . But efforts are underway to bring it to the cinema screen level. Also, displays based on two or four-angle views of the same scene are designed to be driven by a tracking sensor so that they can be used by only one person. And if more than one person wants to sit and watch, the audience can feel the 3D effect only if they sit at certain points (sweet spot).
Watching cinema 3D allows viewers to experience 3D effects no matter where they sit. The horizontal angle, height and distance at which the audience sits will not interfere with the mirrorless 3d effect. And the Looking Cinema 3D method is useful for viewers to enjoy four-angle views of the same scene on a larger screen at a lower cost.
(Important note. The prototype illustrating my invention is a non-working prototype. And the recipient of the prototype illustrating my invention must be the developer based on the essence of the invention)
9. Viewing Cinema 3D Can 3D be brought to the cinema screen based on multiple angle views of the same scene?
Yes it can. But research is still ongoing. At first it was challenging to record multiple angles of the same scene. Second, 3D can be brought to other types of scenes only by rearranging the recorded multi-angle views. The reconstruction rules and methods for large scenes are more challenging. Whether it's four shots of the same scene or polygonal shots of the same scene, the entire reconstruction work in the Cinema 3D concept I see is done by electronically controlled parallax blocking and screen moving.
No need to regenerate polygon view files. Therefore, the Looking Cinema 3D system can bring 3D to cinema screen size more easily than other mirrorless 3D displays currently in use.
10. Is it profitable to make a small scale display based on your invention?
According to my findings, bringing small scale displays to consumer use is a difficult task. Since the display is set up to work in one mode, four projectors are required to display four viewing angles.
With all this in mind, it's best to buy glass-free 3D displays that are currently in use. The aim of my invention is to provide a cinema screen level glass free 3D experience at low cost to all people.
11 .Why haven't you tried to patent your invention of Looking cinema 3D yet?
I am an ordinary carpenter. Due to my interest in 3d cinema, I was doing part time research related to 3d display. And my invention does not have the necessary economic background to get provisional patent and permanent patent. And I don't have the technical support background needed to create a working prototype within the deadline if a patent is applied for. So I would like to give this to an aspiring researcher who excels in the field of 3D technology or an industry employing many researchers.
12. Would it be acceptable if we came forward to help you patent your invention of looking cinema 3D?
I will definitely accept. However, my primary objective is to recover from my financial crisis.
13. Why the delay in bringing the 3d displays invented by other inventors to cinema screen size?
Logistics cost based on multiple cameras required to record multi-angle views of the same scene
The cost of reconstructing recorded polygons before screening
Cost of refurbishing theater display and infrastructure
The technical challenge is to deliver a 3D experience on a large screen at a low cost to the audience
For all the audience sitting at horizontal angles in front of the screen
The challenge is to deliver a 3D experience without being disturbed by their sitting angle, height or distance
A glass free 3D experience on the cinema screen is only possible if the above challenges are overcome.
14. 3D displays are available in the market for glasses-free 3D viewing using only two angle views of the same scene. But why hasn't it been used on the cinema screen yet?
3D displays are available in the market for glasses-free 3D viewing using only two-angle views of the same scene. But the audience is not given the freedom to sit anywhere in front of the screen. On the other hand, freedom of vision displays allow only one person to sit and watch anywhere with an eye-tracking sensor.
My looking cinema 3D
Light rays coming from four or two projectors towards the screen are reflected as four or two parallel rays at various angles towards the audience. Because of this, the huge cinema screen gives the audience the freedom to sit anywhere and enjoy the 3D experience.
15. What do you want to get in return for your discovery?
In my current situation I am looking for the necessary economy to recover from my economic crisis
16. Is the prototype developed based on your invention a working prototype or a non-working prototype?
A prototype developed according to my invention is a prototype that does not work. I don't have the financial and technical support background needed to build a working prototype
17. What guarantee do you make to the buyer of your invention?
As I have already said, I have not yet purchased a patent for my invention and have not applied for a provisional patent.
According to the essence of my invention, it can be implemented with the help of technology. This allows viewers to enjoy a glasses-free 3D experience at a low cost.
My technology, which captures multi-angle views of the same scene with a single camera, reduces the cost of using multiple cameras.
glass Free 3D is created using only four angles of the same scene, so only four projectors are sufficient.
As things stand, my invention is a prototype that doesn't work. Based on this pre-model it is your responsibility to create a working prototype through high technology.
Before working on the essence of my invention, it is my sole responsibility to clarify any doubts they may have while making a prototype or a very large screen size screen. Mostly I will provide all the explanation related to my invention in file format. I will also hand over a non-working prototype. And if required I can share solutions to their doubts only through email or whatsapp chat. Because I am not fluent in English. My language is Tamil. So I will translate my comments into English with google translate and share the solutions..
Thank you
